About Me
I have always been drawn to people and their stories. As a therapist, I feel it an honor and a privilege to be welcomed into the vulnerable moments in my clients’ lives. I possess a growing intuition that allows me to understand others – their fears, hopes, dreams and goals – in a unique way. I have been a therapist for more than 25 years because connecting with others is simply what I do. I connect with people and help them connect with themselves.
In my practice, I recognize every client as an individual with unique challenges and innate strengths. The people I work with are much more than a diagnosis, and my priority is to help clients find relief from a variety of symptoms. If you are struggling with anxiety or depression – or feel like you can’t find joy or fulfill your dreams – I can help you better cope with day-to-day issues. By clearing away all of the noise and residue of life, you can begin to live as your truest, most empowered self. You may not be feeling aligned with your own uniqueness and beauty, but it is there. I can help you connect with all you are and meet challenges that can sometimes seem impossible to address.
I also work with couples facing a variety of difficulties. I believe that every person deserves a trusting, connected, committed relationship. And, as a mother of three, I specialize in working with teenagers, who are at a particularly fragile, exciting and complicated time in their lives. Teens have an especially rich potential for tremendous growth. I work to help each of my teen clients develop an understanding of their core strength, as well as effective coping methods that can guide them through their whole lives.
I come from a large Italian family. From an early age, all of the care and chaos of my upbringing taught me how to be there for others. Extending help and support was my natural role. In addition, my family is full of caregivers, from my mother the therapist to my grandfather the doctor. Throughout my life, I learned how to resolve conflict, create compromise and navigate all of life’s challenges. Between my background and my own innate sense of empathy and understanding, my therapy work doesn’t feel like work at all.
My life has also included many experiences of loss. When I was young, my grandparents – who lived in my house – passed away. As a child, I developed a healthy perspective on death and dying, recognizing it as a natural part of life. Many years later, I lost my husband to cancer. Despite the pain of this experience, I gained a clearer understanding of what is important in life – joy and love. I strongly value connection with loved ones, family members and friends. And, as your therapist, I will create a relationship based in trust and respect while calling on my decades of experience and natural intuition to help you find relief, heal and foster confidence.
Outside of the therapy office, my children are my world, and I’m happiest when they are happy. I cherish my huge family and my deep, lifelong friendships. I also enjoy traveling and creative work, such as painting and drawing. In my work and my life in general, I thrive off of learning new things and becoming involved in activities and projects that, initially, I know nothing about.
I believe that the challenges life throws our way are meant to be confronted and used as opportunities for growth. In sessions, I can help you understand that once you find clear access to your true self, anything is possible. There are no limitations in life if we feel equipped to continuously meet challenges and travel beyond them. By working to create healing from depression, anxiety or relationship issues, you can get in touch with the inner resiliency you need to tap into your full potential and build a life you may not be able to imagine. You can connect with the amazing person that you are.
